The Brancaia winery has been among Italy's top wineries for years. Founded in 1981 by the Swiss couple Bruno and Brigitte Widmer, Brancaia is known for its elegant and complex wines with a strong Tuscan identity. The winery's vineyards include Brancaia in Castellina in Chianti, Poppi in Radda in Chianti, and Brancaia in Maremma near Grosseto. Since 1998, Barbara Widmer, a trained oenologist and daughter of the founders, has managed the winery. Together with her team, she strives each year to offer uncompromising quality and maximum drinking pleasure. The winery's philosophy is clear: the more nature is respected, the healthier the vines and the better and more typical of the region the fruit becomes.
