This single malt from the Scottish Highlands embodies the tradition of a distillery that has been producing high-quality whiskies for over 200 years. Blair Athol represents robust Highland character with a particular affinity for sweet sherry casks.

This whisky matured for eighteen years in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, developing an exceptionally sweet and complex profile. The PX cask #40245 imparted intense notes of dried fruit, raisins, and sweet spices. The long maturation period, from August 2006 to April 2025, created a whisky with the characteristic depth and sweetness that only this particular cask type can produce.

Bottled at 47.4% ABV, this whisky is unfiltered and without any additives. This natural approach preserves all the flavor compounds and the creamy texture resulting from the PX maturation. The dark, mahogany-brown color comes solely from the intensive interaction with the sherry cask.

Elixir Distillers produced only 257 bottles of this limited edition from the "Single Malts of Scotland" series.
