Ardbeg 15 Years Anthology - The Beithir's Tale
The Scottish Gaelic word "beithir" can be translated as serpent, lightning, or thunderbolt. In Highland legends, however, the beithir is always described as a snake-like creature that lurks in remote waters, waiting for prey. The beithir is considered extremely dangerous: armed with a deadly stinger, it poisons unfortunate hikers. The only way to escape? Fleeing to a nearby body of water – assuming you can reach it before the beithir strikes. If that fails, there is no hope. How this dark legend arose or where the beithir originated remains a mystery to this day. In the 1930s, however, a group of fishermen reported seeing the fearsome creature coiled in a glen near Kilmorack. Only by sheer luck did they escape with their lives – since then, no trace of the creature has been found.
Ardbeg Anthology - The Beithir's Tale is the third release in the Anthology series from the renowned Islay distillery Ardbeg. This series features a unique blend of exceptional maturation methods and innovative cask selection with the signature smoky Ardbeg profile.
