Absinthe 66
Absinthe 66 is Abtshof in Magdeburg's most famous specialty. The recipe combines anise, fennel, wormwood, and other herbs to create a distinctive, classic absinthe with 66% ABV. Each apothecary bottle is hand-labeled and sealed, giving the traditional design its characteristic handcrafted feel.
Flavor-wise, the spicy herbs take center stage. Anise and fennel bring aromatic sweetness, while wormwood contributes a distinctly bitter component. Due to its high alcohol content, Absinthe 66 is particularly suitable for traditional preparation with water and sugar, as well as a strong ingredient in classic drinks such as Sazerac or Death in the Afternoon.
The green color is created by the colorants E102 and E133. Absinthe 66 combines the historical style of the "Green Fairy" with the handcrafted presentation of the Magdeburg-based manufacturer.
