Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2022
Every year this special bottling comes onto the market in an extraordinary wooden box. Master Distiller Barry Crockett selects the most exciting whiskeys from the Midleton Distillery for this vintage whiskey. Each box is numbered and signed by the Master Distiller. The age of this premium whiskey is between 15 and 22 years, sometimes even up to 27 years.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Fruity introduction with fresh citrus notes of tangerine and candied apple, while dustings of white pepper with grated nutmeg deliver subtle spices that complement the rich and velvety tones of hazelnut chocolate and toffee. Carefully balanced, the charred oak works in tandem with the elegant grain character, enhancing the delicate and nuanced fresh floral tones with the addition of sweet vanilla and warming toasted wood aromas.
Palate: Caramelized red apples and orange zest with luscious, sweet and decadent waves of creme brulee that intertwine seamlessly with the pot still spices and cereal undertones, creating an intriguing and delightful medley of fruit and spice.
Finish: Rich and lingering finish where the spices of the grain and pot still are the first to gently fade away, allowing the oak to have the last word after years of carefully aging the spirit.
