Dunville's Three Crowns Peated
A peated Irish whiskey that scored highly in the 2018 edition of Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible, scoring 94.5. Comprised of a single grain whisky, a 10 year old single malt and a 15 year old single malt with an Oloroso sherry finish, married together in a peat barrel. It's not too often that peated Irish whiskeys come around, so take full advantage of this one!
Tasting Notes
Nose: The lightest phenol imaginable drifts over the nose like a glider over the Co. Down coast. Quiet and barely noticeable unless you're looking for it, but pretty nice.
Palate: Stunning texture. A blend of light Ulmo honey and mocha makes for the friendliest and loveliest delivery and execution. Light smoke moves around without a portfolio.
Finish: Long and slightly fruity with overripe gooseberries. Mocha and smoke make their silent requests for attention.
